mini in Porto: A 10-Year Promise and a New Journey for Icluebio
Writer: Alex Jang

Ten years ago, I visited Lisbon and Porto to present a poster at an academic conference. The timeless beauty and warm atmosphere of Porto left a lasting impression on me, making it a city I always longed to return to. Today, I stand here again—not just as a visitor, but as the CEO of Icluebio, bringing our iMSPR-mini technology with me. Marking our first European milestone in a city so full of personal memories is a truly profound experience.

Connecting with UCP, Portugal
The mini has been installed at the School of Biotechnology (ESB) of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), an institution with a long-standing history in biotech education in Portugal. The laboratories we encountered on-site were as impressive as the building’s refined exterior—practical, meticulous, and optimized for high-level research. As mini is now part of an environment where such substantial research is actively conducted, we expect our device to become a practical partner in enhancing research efficiency.
Icluebio’s ‘2-Day Global Standard Training Program’
At Icluebio, we go beyond just selling a device; we ensure our customers can leverage its full potential through expert care. To celebrate this first installation, our HQ specialists conducted our comprehensive 2-Day Standard Training Program on-site. This program represents our global service commitment: providing the same level of professional support to every customer, anywhere in the world.
Day 1: From Installation to Foundational Excellence
Introduction & Theory: We shared the physical principles of SPR and the design philosophy behind the mini.

Installation & IQ/OQ: We performed rigorous Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) to ensure the device operates at peak performance and guarantees data integrity.

Hands-on Training: Using our Protein A-hIgG Starter Kit, we provided training on precise manual SPR operations, including baseline management.

Day 2: Real-Sample Testing & Optimization
User Sample Testing: Researchers performed experiments using their own actual research samples.
Real-time Feedback & Optimization: Our experts monitored the entire process, providing immediate feedback and a specialized optimization guide to fine-tune experimental conditions for each unique sample, enabling researchers to achieve high-quality data immediately.

Work Hard, Dream Big: Connecting the Dreams of Researchers
On the wall of the laboratory where the mini was installed, we saw the motto: "Work Hard, Dream Big." It perfectly mirrors our mission—ensuring that the tireless efforts (Work Hard) of researchers lead to significant scientific breakthroughs (Dream Big) through the innovative tool of the mini.
Just as the mini is designed to connect anywhere, this installation is the starting point for Icluebio’s technology to connect with laboratories across Europe. We look forward to a future where the wave we started in Porto contributes to the advancement of global science and technology.
